When purchasing a used Mac Pro, there are several important things to consider to ensure you get a high quality and reliable device. Here are some points to consider:
1. Trusted Seller: Buy Mac Pro from a reputable and trustworthy seller such as Maconline.
2. Specifications: Make sure the Mac Pro meets the desired specifications. Check the exact model number, processor performance, RAM, graphics card, hard drive capacity and other important technical details.
3. Age of Device: Determine the age of the used Mac Pro. Typically, the newer the model, the better the performance and supported features.
4. OS updates: Check if the device is still supported by Apple and how long it will receive future OS updates.
5. Upgradeability: Certain Macs can be easily upgraded, while others cannot, so check the upgradeability before purchasing if necessary.
6. Warranty: Good sellers offer a 30-day exchange policy and a free 1-year warranty. In some cases there is the option to extend the guarantee to several years. This can give you extra peace of mind if problems arise.
Ultimately, it’s a good idea to do your research before buying a used Mac Pro. If you take all of these points into account, you can easily find a used Mac that will last you for a long time.

They never upgraded the 6,1 because it had terrible thermals and just could not cool anything with more power.
And well, not even upgrading the ports was just plain lazy.
i bought a 6 1 Mac Pro for myself christmas 2023 for a steal and love it, Ive got the 6 core D500 32gb spec for $215 in mint condition. Will be upgrading to the 12 core and maxing out the ram soon. It totally serves every purpose I need and its a work of art on my desk. I always wanted one when they dropped and it finally made sense
buying a used 2019, or 2023 mac pro is a good idea
Quality video!
I own 9 own of these apple beauties 😛 still VERY usable. even gaming in 2023 with a good GPU
Excellent Video ! But a quick FYI, your background video on the iMac Pro is for an ancient iMac that is actually very easy to take a part and has no glue (3M Tape), the real iMac Pro is a nightmare and needs to be done with a plastic cutting wheel, just in case anyone was watching and thought it has a separate glass, or course the imac pro is a super expensive screen (even today) and if you break or chip the glass (very easy to do on an unprotected corner) you are SOL since the glass and display are fused together
no on to the 6,1 no its not worth it the 6,1 does not support metal and everything is broken on it go with the 5,1
it was a good idea for me i use it for school and put OCLP on it and it works fine
I'm watching this on a 4,1 flashed to 5,1 running Sonoma. OpenCore Legacy Patcher allows you to run the current mac OS so long as you have capable GPU. I even get hardware accel. which helps out a lot.
How can I connect this machine to Apple Thunderbolt Display , I have Radeon 480 4GB graphics card and HDMI, Display Port and DVI port. Need some help for getting connected to Apple Thunderbolt Display
Dude you can run Mac OS latest on Mac Pro 5,1 you put Radeon 6800. My Mac Pro 6,1 run with Radeon Vega 56. I still use both today
I got a Mac Pro 2009, upgraded memory, CPU, GPU, WiFi module and fitted with 4x HDD, 2x SSD and 1x NVMe (for the OS), and using it as a media server, backups and stuff.
Just got a 4,1 for $30. Flashed it, upgraded to 3.33 plus ram and a regular gpu. It’s in my den, use it for email and music. Had 2 others before this one but I keep buying them. It’s fun to get them back to working. Not a fan of the trash can. Cheers from California.
