so in the last video I tryed and failed. But after reading the comments, I make it work.

Thank you for tinkering with the F8, you are the only YouTuber that is doing cool things with it! I just received my F8 last night and I'm having fun watching your videos about it.
👍👍great
I've been running mine for a few weeks now – the next hurdle to run another OS on this – I think this is what is going on – is the some of the M.2 slots are attached to a switch, and there's some funky timing with that. The net effect is that a few drives will go offline randomly, which is super annoying. It's better with some kernel parameters added (I don't have it in front of me, but it's the same boot params needed for TruNAS Scale), but not 100% yet I think. I've read somewhere that turning off VT-d in the bios may also help, but I haven't tried it yet. Otherwise it's nice with Proxmox, easily saturating the 10GbE connection. All mine does is run ceph storage all day, so no VM's. If it wasn't so expensive to load up with drives I'd set up another one I think.
Thanks for your videos! You really try things that noone alse does with this device. 🙂
I would like to install NVMe with preinstalled heat sinks. Do you have any idea how thick they could be to still fit in the case?
And just as an idea for another video. Maybe you could also try truenas scale with ZFS. Would be quite interesting to see how it performs. Thanks!
Great follow up and shows your honest if you get things a little wrong. Regarding the USB I would just buy a usb cable I suppose the main things are where to mount it / how? On the CPU heatsink I think might be bad but maybe on the inside of the case above the nvme storage with some velcro might work (be fiddly but looks like there would be space between nvme and the case). I only say this location because the nvme only operate at 1,000 speed so would not get hot. CPU heatsink is likely to get hotter. Removing the USB drives plastic case might work but I suspect it will still be bigger. My view would be decide where to mount it and from here you can decide. Just a thought a most likley to late for you you can get usb to nvme caddies not an enclosure which would probably fit down the side with a usb cable (they are long 2080 but would be less thick from my experience and cost about £15). Anyway I'm even more excited now about this box and might have buy one to have a play. Looks like a very cheap to run proxmox server cable of a few VM's Thank you for the video amazing as always
Couldn't you get a 6" / 10cm USB 3.0 extension cable and stuff the USB SSD wherever you want? Could probably even get one with a 90 deg plug on it. Seems like the simplest solution. Maybe some double-sided tape, masking tape, Velcro… so it stays put and doesn't flop around.
I've been watching for a long time. Glad to see you're still making videos!!!
Hi Morten, you probably dont remember me but I have been watching you since years! I recently made my own business and kind of forgot about you but i recently got back into my server stuff and found your videos again. Love your content as always!!!!
AMD Ryzen CPU s with ddr5 can take up to 5 Minutes to Boot with new Memory. If you want to Google it, just search „RAM training“ its a new „Feature“ from DDR5
Just cut the usb ssd in half as it's a waste of patreon money after all… 😁😁
Kudoos for reading the comments ! No patreon's money waste after all… Hurray !
what about taking the usb ssd out of its case?
Awesome video !! Loved it !!
it takes time because it's probably testing the memory again
i have a terramaster 4 bay,terrible device.i got a qnap.much better.
Doing do of the doing of 32 gb
Memory training, it would be helpful if bios`s had a screen indicator to say it was going on.
Excellent 👍🤓
I am pretty sure if I would wake up one morning with double size brain storage I would be a bit slow to get started also…
so its now 200+ container and not 100+?
told you on ur last video ^^ although i was wrong on crucial might been wrong timings. but i knew 32gb worked since i was useing it myself. but glad you got it working 🙂
its a neat little box 🙂
Second 😉
