Should have kept your Electric Lime Metallic 3rd Gen
Anybody buy the base model SR with the weaker engine? Does it have enough power to get it done? The old 2.7 four was a dog.
You already made the mistake buying that thing just enjoy it. 😅 Kidding I'm constantly talking myself down from buying a 2024. Looks like an improvement in all aspects. Im gonna get one just not til 2026.
I’m done with Toyota. I went with the Jeep gladiator Rubicon one of the best vehicles I ever owned.
The weather changes the air pressure once you start driving it to tires heat up and I’ll change them again
The TPMS was/is typical gov't over reaction, over reach, solution. The biggest cause of tire failure, especially at higher highway speeds, is low and underinflated tires. Yes, there is a minor MPG advantage to "properly" inflated tires. The KISS method would have been a simple warning when a tire drops to 20 psi, but some Poindexter thought that the real time tire pressure display would be a great idea. Except pressures change due to outside temperatures and driving speed. "Never check hot tire pressure." The big truck tires are less susceptible to fluctuations than the rubber band tires on sedans with 19"-22" wheels.
One's oil pressure, oil temp, and coolant temp are more critical for real time monitoring than tire pressure. A friend of mine who was in the tire design and manufacturing business his entire adult life recommends the following: Fill and/or check your tires with a high quality gauge after they have sat over night, noting how the gauge varies from the truck's onboard readings. Then only check with the truck's display within the first mile of leaving your house. High air temps and high speeds can easily add 5 psi, which modern tires can handle quite well. Never let air out of a hot tire. Now depending on the weather a tire might lose a pound of two overnight, which is normal.
Maybe rather than this long comment I should do a vid on tire psi?
Ron I am not having problems with my cluster. I have 3 screens and I scroll over to them and then set each side to have what I want and they are staying put. My default has my oil temperature and the other screen has something like the oil and temperature but i am not sure what they are maybe you will know. But whichever screen I leave it’s always there when I restart. Also o have a question what do you think about the grab handle on the passenger side. It’s is useless in my opinion.
I have a 2024 trd sport and I can’t be the only one who has this problem. Every once in awhile when I start the truck my touch screen will glitch out or won’t turn on… also I know this is actually Toyota thing but I don’t like how the plastic does get scratches / white marks easily
You are a high mileage driving nut. When do you have time to go home? Have you hit the 2k yet?
My 2024 tundra I force max has the same tire pressure inconsistency.
4th gen Tacoma is the Temu version of the 3rd gen.
I would of kept my 3gen
I have the same problem Rob. Mine switches back and forth between the tire pressure and trip meter. Every day or two is different. Dealer couldn’t tell me why? Still love the truck! Especially when merging onto the freeway. Quicker and quieter.
4cyl turbo no thank you.
Rob, I bought the OEM hood liner for my 2024 Off-Road for under $300. The liner cut the engine noise by 50%. No regrets.
I know how to make the screen stay but I watched you and you’re supposed to know!
I’ll keep my 21 OR
But I have a 2024 Tacoma SR trim and I have the same problem with the seat seat is always going down besides that I have no other plates truck has almost 10,000 miles on it and I’m driving it around the country. No problems whatsoever does it burn oil good gas mileage at least 23 to 24 miles to the gallon.
I've been buying vehicles for a long time. I never needed to clay-bar a brand new vehicle until the 24' Tacoma. Never bought new tires for a truck at 1,000 miles, either. Replaced splash guards on a vehicle. Fixed road chips or had a vehicle PFF wrapped. I probably got around $4K in fixes. Now the dash is vibrating when the radio is on. It's probably the JBL portable speaker or the glove box. I also put an Undercover trifold hard tonneau cover on this Tacoma. The cheap ass bed caps Toyota installed is held on with 4 pieces of 1 inch square 3M tape. WTF! I'm not keeping this MF'er anyway, so I epoxy them on. Is this a f'n Yugo, or did Mattel build it? Trucks should have metal bumpers, too. I think my Kawasaki Mule is a better vehicle….
I really think Toyota missed the mark with the gauge cluster. I have a 2024 TRD OR. They should have done way more customization with the cluster. Personally I'd like to be able to lose the analog speedometer entirely and be able to position gauges where ever I want on the rest of the screen.
You keep talking yourself into that colorado…the tacoma is starting to bore you I think
Well if you didn't remove the running boards you could have stepped up and then not slid on the seat.
Guage cluster…What seems to work for me is… when I get the screen I want after changing is to press the ok button and carry on, scroll through and get back to the screen, press the ok button but not change the settings until the option to change appears and then press the ok button without changing… mine seems to stay on what I've selected… give it a try
