  1. Microsoft is actually evil

Since some months Windows 10 Shows up EVERY SINGLE TIME I TURN ON MY PC to make a back up And to pay for the one drive trial version. It even sometimes crashes my pc because it corrupts some process that starts when the pc turns on. Just stop Microsoft, You already have like 500 million dolars, Just stop advertising that you're hungry microsoft

PD: sorry for my bad english

  2. Strange that there is no law against it. Even that they always change their policy always, after you bought it, and your only choice to disagree is to stop using windows as they write. It's like you buy a car, and now the manufacture says, you have to give us all your data, or you can't use your car anymore. It can't be legal, what they are doing.

  3. Once without my permission OneDrive installed itself WITHOUT MY PERMISSION and backed up everything online

Then recently on my laptop that doesn't even have windows activated, windows automatically set the wallpaper to the showcase thing and I had no way of turning it off without wallpaper engine, all it did was slow down my laptop even more

I'm really tempted to move to Linux at this point

  4. I don't think grandma would plug in her credit card if she accidentally clicked along. I don't see that there's anything to worry about… but it is a nuisance.

  5. I had a similar problem. My mom is "grandma windows" level in tech, and she keep having full cloud storage. And it took me way too long to figure out that I can't exfiltrate onedrive to the desktop because onedrive by default back up your whole home directory. So I kept trying to exfiltrate onedrive to desktop and couldn't figure out why I couldn't do so.

  6. I have a problem with Edge collections. it just does not work on any device that sign in with my Microsoft account. I've tried so many things like clear out my data reset Edge, login logout, but nothing's even work, and Microsoft support is garbage. I really liked using collections on Edge Browser, but it just doesn't work now all because my account is broken.

  7. You know, backing up files is actually a good practice to prevent data loss in case of accidents, so I’m not too mad about that one. Obviously they would market their own product for that use case, which you can fault them for if you want, but this might get people who wouldn’t back up their files otherwise to back up their files, which is a good thing.

  8. At the bottom of the Windows 11 "Windows Update" page, you can read Microsoft's commitment to being green. That gave me a laugh. Most people scream at their laptop for the update process to finish. How is that energy efficient?

If the update doesn't brick your PC that is, and you kept data on the C drive.
