This is awesome! Thank you so much, so i'm able to dual boot between Android and Linux! that's sweet. my only question is would it mess up any existing things that's going on the android side if I use the same micro SD card to file both my android and my linux stuff? would i even be able to use the same SD card cus I have a 1 tb card
That's cool though rather raw. I kinda wish there's Linux for other snapdragon phones/tablet like the SD865.
Thank you cool beard
Thanks for the video – didn't even know this was possible until now. I think the appeal of the Retroid Pocket 5 is that you should be able to boot straight into Batocera via SD card or USB flash drive, no need to perform any extra steps. A bit of a cleaner solution other than having a dual boot option screen.
teach me how to install steam in the next videoπ
So nice. I remember I saw the Archlinux installed in Odin2 last year which couldn't apply the graphics driver well. Do they fix it? Does it work on Odin2 mini?
So torn if I want to pick up an Odin 2 Mini or not. I already have an PR4P and Odin 2 Pro. What do you think?
Could you try if there are any performance gains in Linux Native emulators compared to the Android ones?
Does this mean the likes of Xenia and RPCS3 (and better builds of Cemu) could be up and running given there are SteamOS versions of these already?
you gotta try RPCS3 on this. iβm sure a lot of the lighter games like dragon ball raging blast would work.
does this mean i can put batocera on it?
Technically I think the Gen 2 can also run Windows.
how about rpcs3? this is odin2 last puzzle piece
I really want to try this but I just rooted my Odin 2 with TWRP and Magisk and I'm worried that If I try this I might end up bricking it. I think it would be cool to install FEX and try to see how steam games run on this thing
How is Ryujinx on the Odin2? That happens to have an ARM port.
would this also work on the min?
Linux booted, great magic
You will share your Odin 2, Great
"Here's how to install flatpak" then later, "I know this was a long one." The second you said the first thing, I figured you were worried about making the video too long. Flatpak is simple, and there's a lot of things on there. But there's also certain downsides to it. Sometimes you're going to need something like flatseal in order to get your controller working with some applications. If you're using a launcher, say in the case of the flatpak version of GZDoom and you want to run DoomRunner, you need to make an executable shell script for the flatpak version of GZDoom since Flatpak has a little sandbox method of launching what it installs.
Ooh cool! – Linux usually has lower latency than Android. We never really got Linux running properly on Odin Pro (which is why I never use it) – AYN ignored the Linux effort unfortunately.
I wonder why you just cant install any Linux distro supporting ARM? The soc is a pretty standard one?
