In this tutorial, we explain how to correctly install Meta Segment Anything Model 2 (SAM2) in Python and Linux Ubuntu and how to write an object detection and tracking script in Python. We have also created a tutorial on how to install SAM2 in Python and Windows. A link to that tutorial is given in the description below. The Linux Ubuntu installation of SAM2 is much simpler compared to the Windows installation. This is probably because the developers of SAM2 used Linux Ubuntu or some other Linux distribution.
