How to Fix VLC Codec H.264 Issue on the OpenSUSE Tumbleweed & Leap Linux #linux #opensuse #vlc #h264

Hi Friends,

This video demonstrates how to fix the VLC codec H264 issue on OpenSUSE Linux operating systems.

When installing OpenSUSE Tumbleweed or Leap, VLC media player comes by default, which is great news! However, you might encounter an H264 video codec error when trying to play videos such as .mp4 and .mkv files. These videos can be played by MPV, Celluloid, or Parole, but if you want to fix the codec error in VLC, please watch this video. It will be really helpful!

Short Summary:

Install the vlc.ymp from the VideoLAN website.
Run sudo zypper install vlc-codecs (Cancel if codecs are already installed).
Run sudo zypper install libdvdcss2 vlc.
Open any .mp4 or .mkv file with VLC, and it should definitely work with both audio and video.
That’s it!
