How to Convert a VMware VMDK Virtual Disk to a VirtualBox VDI File



If you have a virtual machine running in VMware Workstation that you want to convert to runimport in Oracle VirtualBox then it’s an easy process to convert a VMDK virtual disk file to a VDI file using a free tool called QEMU disk image utility.

Here is the sample command from the video.

qemu-img.exe convert -p “D:VMware VMsWindows 11 Pro 2Windows 11 Pro 2.vmdk” -O vdi “D:VMware VMsWindows 11 Pro 2Windows 11 Pro 2.vdi”
