How do you like them Pineapple…. grenades : Rimworld Anomaly

That was some nice calm for a while, then Randy decided he was bored and we were most definitely not bored after that. It’s weird how not monstrous all the raids are, well barring that 43 person one that was pretty horrible. But the mech for example were way weaker than previous waves. On the bright side I think we can finally go moderate wealth now as we just about have the tech to manage it.

  1. Hahahaha! Why do you even try to play without mods? You crack me up. Please never change. Not gonna lie, when you said you were going to play without mods, I already knew you were going to get that pawn info display mod, and the trading mod. I don't see any Rimworld playthrough where you don't use at the very least those two mods.

  2. Mod Suggestions:
I'm glad you are enjoying the Learning Threshhold Fix.

I will continue to recommend Compact Hediffs. It's amazing QoL when estimating how injured a pawn is at a glance.

  3. Burc sat at mommy's deathrest casket and watched her sleep. He was NOT scared. He refused to be scared just because his mommy was asleep. Burc knew that sometimes, mommy had to go to sleep for a while, because she was a vampire. She had explained that to him. But this time … there were these noises again of these frag thingies. Mommy always said those were really good at killing things. And Uncle Smerk had told him to stay in mommy's room until someone came to get him, which meant they were under attack again. AGAIN. It was like someone KNEW mommy was asleep and pointing all the bad guys in their direction. Well, on the bright side, Burc knew that if things got really bad, mommy would just wake up and make everything right again. His mommy was the best, after all. Until then … yeah, this was probably the safest room to be in. Burc hummed as he sat on the floor and begain drawing Dumbshit with his chalk.

  4. 0:20 It's less heartwarming when you realize many voted based on minmaxxing, not ethics. Cannibal is pretty terrible if you run out of human flesh (such as when anomaly raids dilute human raids) or don't have power armor (human leather is worse than plainleather for protection, so is only worth wearing on the skin layer.)

4:10 "What, like reverse Mormons?" LOL! It feels good to hear that some people have a positive view of us. Like most ideologies, it's far more common to hear insults than support. Also, I am obligated to remind everyone that "Mormon" is a nickname, and that the correct name of our religion is "The Church of Jesus Christ (of Latter Day Saints)".

9:00 That was close. They ducked through the door just as the first shot was fired.
10:10 Holy cow that was close.
14:45 The best part of that killbox is how little wealth you get from raids. That's very little cleanup needed.

21:45 IMO, metalhorrors are one of the best possible kinds of entities to capture. They have better benefits than a Revenant, while being FAR less dangerous if they break out of containment. There are technically better options, like crippling <REDACTED> with air coolers or electroharvesters, freezing <REDACTED>, and the <REDACTED> event, but I'm sure you'll be looking into those later.

33:10 Revenant invisibility is much more useful than you'd think. You've forgotten how high the heat cost of invisibility is. You're used to having a late game colony with gene editing, children raised with good traits, deathrest buildings, and psy boosting gear. This early in the game, a single spine effectively doubles the number of times you can use Invisibility in each raid.

OTOH, it would be very entertaining if you just let the Revenant live until it's inevitable escape. You haven't fought a Revenant properly yet.

59:27 TBH, I had the same idea, but at the very least FJ should add a "II" to the end of the new ghoul's name!

    Killbox:
    1. Have 3 frag grenadiers in the "middle" row, have 1-2 EMP grenadiers in the "back" row. It's no big deal if a single EMP misses and friendly fires.
    2. It might be possible to put repair pawns in the inside diagonal corners of the plasteel walls, to repair them during combat.
    3. Put sturdy standable furniture under the melee blocker. Even a stool would be better than nothing. It would make the middle grenadier less vulnerable.

    Crafting:
Don't procrastinate making a flamethrower. They are very interesting, fun, and useful.

  5. No Joke, I kinda liked the idea of Peshet's kid being the traitor/metal horror. She came to the colony pregnant. It fits all too well that some shady science faction sent Pershet and her team out into the Rim to "study Cthulu stuff," but in reality, SHE was the test subject. She was carrying the horror inside her all along. I almost think I'd like that better than the random wandering traitor story.

  6. Mom….something is different. Everyone is calling that new Ghoul with fur Dumbshit. Where did Uncle Dumbshit go? Well he went on vacation… This is the new Uncle Dumbshit, how do you like her? Mom, for some reason I seem to like everything except those stupid hate cultists. You and me both kid…
    RIP Dumbshit1 🍺

  7. Burc telling stories of his past: "I remember when Uncle Dumbshit changed one day. He went out to save us from a group of Mechanoids, and when he came back he looked alot tougher and hairier. But he also stopped playing with me during my naturewalks. I still miss the old Dumbshit."

  8. At some point someone thought "Lets take Alien, The Thing and The Borg and smash them together, what could go wrong?"

    Metal Horrors are, well, horrifying.

  9. Another neat tip, you can just use the holding spots instead of the steel chain slabs to help manage wealth. If you can somehow capture entities with brain damage they will never escape containment, possibly even have lower wealthy value. I'm uncertain if the most reliable way to do this is to spam psychic shock lances or getting a lucky shot in.

  10. Love the videos, but could you put a little note on the screen saying how many days into the run you are, it's hard to try to use your progress as a yardstick in my own games when I can't contextualize your progress. Thanks

  11. I remember when Francis made that video a few months back talking about how he edits his videos and how he reduced the outro volume until no one complained about being woke up by the loud outro, and I was wondering "who would fall sleep to such amazing content", today I was one of those persons… Tiredness got the best of me and I missed like half of the video, now I have to watch it again
