Comparing and Contrasting Patman Vs B4 for Posting Patches – Doug Anderson, Google

Posting patches upstream is a bit of an arduous and error-prone process. Fortunately, these days tools exist to help the process a bit. This talk will go over two such tools. We’ll start by looking at an older but lesser-known tool called “patman”, which is extensively used in U-Boot but also quite handy for Linux patches. We’ll then go over how “b4” can be used to help you post patches. We’ll then compare and contrast the two tools. By the end of the talk you’ll have recipes for using either tool in your workflow.
