Building the Ultimate Cybersecurity HomeLab for Cyber Pros



In Lab 0, we will walk through setting up the ultimate cybersecurity home lab, consisting of Kali Linux, Metasploitable, Ubuntu Server (Wazuh), Ubuntu Desktop, and Flare VM. This lab aimed at individuals studying for cybersecurity certifications like, ISC2 CC, Network+, A+, Security+, CEH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, CISM, etc., who want practical hands-on experience to complement their theoretical knowledge.

Lab Setup Overview:
Basic Lab Setup: Install Kali Linux with Metasploit on VMware Workstation
Blue Team Lab Setup: Install Ubuntu Server with Wazuh
Malware Analysis Lab Setup: Install Flare VM on Windows 10

Lab Setup Steps:
1. Download and install VMware Workstation Pro for free
2. Configure VMware Workstation and install Kali Linux with Metasploit
3. Install Ubuntu Server and Wazuh for endpoint protection
4. Install Flare VM on Windows 10 for malware analysis

System Requirements:
RAM: 16GB (32+ GB Recommended)
CPU: 2GHz or better
Storage: 500GB SSD or more
