I am a marine mechanic, use dialetric grease on all spade connections and screw terminals including fuses and factory plugs like the harness on the fish finder, nav, etc. I use dow corning #4, it's the cheapest way to buy it. In a year, you'll thank me. do not use any butt connectors unless they are low temp solder and gas sealed, (Usually they have heat gun meltable solder and dialectric in them). I personally will not use any crimp only connector, I solder, dialectric and heat shrink. For repairs I solder, paint with liquid electrical tape, heat shring, paint with liquid electrical tape and heat shrink again. Yes two layers.
I've never wired up a boat – but it's on my list to tackle!
I wonder why boats didn't come with infrared lights inside of the gunnels. My boat is a 06 and has no night lights on the bow or beam. Just the the regular lights. A lot of lakes in Colorado you can be out on the water at night to fish.
One word outstanding!!
Awesome job, Mike!
