Great video! One thing I always wonder about running a cloud service from home, is, are you comfortable leaving a PC on 24/7 when you are away? E.g. on holiday? A simple home server doesn't draw much power – but they can catch fire….

Its a must if you’re running Chrome OS on VM. If you can’t have the Linux store, every app has to be run from the cloud. NextCloud fills that gap.

im using Twingate, Pivpn and cloudflare tunnels….very cool projects to do and awesome ways to have access to my stuff from anywere.
You can enable file system scan in the config file, saves you from running occ commands, look for filesystem_check_changes

Just upgraded nexfcloud to lasest version version after version from nextcloud 17 using build-in web updater, it was ok, but after latest step and it. … no it works, but file sync stopped working correctly, some file sync ok, some fails… unfortunately, forgot to make a backup…

I use NCP for years. Its really good for all reasons you mentioned.
I did tested talk and collaborative office apps. That dont really work on a raspberry pi. I asume you will test them on a pc or minipc. Raspberry pi dont have enough power .. or maybe this latest version does… ??

How you are accessing it from outside your network? Are you constantly VPNd in , using a reverse proxy setup, do you just have it exposed to the internet? I'd love to transition to a self hosted nextcloud instance that I can use from anywhere but the security around it all scares me.
