Why couldn't I run a heavily modified Windows XP built up to modern standard on modern equipment? Better yet, why not have windows xp on a 4090 type pc?
Oddly enough, if I was going to do something like this, I would start with windows. Nt or the windows point of sale edition, which is stripped down as much as possible to begin with.
How about none of this dogshit, and an operating system just works as an operating system, Microsoft stops stealing my storage with unnecessary and impossible to delete bloatware and let’s me play my damn games in peace
Hear me out… Windows ME… running Windows Vista in VM, or Windows 8… Wait. That will never happen as ME i…………. There was a critical error with this message. Please press Ctrl+alt+delete.
did… did he forget what the video was about? i feel like I'm losing my mind here, this short is weird, right? it's not just me? he says here's some reasons to use older versions of windows, followed by showing us people running VMs with newer versions of windows, like… why is that a reason to use an older version? it's not like anyone is going to play games on steam or watch youtube on a VM on a windows XP computer, that's not a reason to use old software, it's just a novelty. if you care about your privacy and you don't like some faceless corporation putting random software on your computer, literally just use linux. it's not just for nerds anymore, I've been on linux for six years and i still don't understand any of it, i do everything through GUI like any other normal computer user, the only difference is that my computer asks for my permission before adding new features, and there's not sponsored posts in my taskbar and all that bullshit. it's a modern UI with the simplicity of windows XP and the capability of windows 10, and it plays every steam game (except halo infinite for [cough cough] some reason…), linux is the thing you want. and since the linux-based steam deck came out, it's given devs a huge incentive to get their games working on linux, it's been a huge boon for linux PC users, five years ago it was maybe 40% of games work out of the box, now it's a strong 95%
I just dont understand why anybody would use older versions of windows. I know that windows 11 has quite high specifications requirements but what about xp or 7 insted of just use 10? Video please
if the only reasons are to use virtual box to use newer versions of windows on older versions of windows then whats the point of using the old versions of windows if your just gonna use the newer versions anyway?

What about linex
I've finally got a cpu and gpu powerful enough for vista, might give that a go
I just want to go back to 7. If that could've been continuously updated, I would've used that.

A ludicrous waste of time.
Hear me out: Windows Vista running Windows 8 virtual machine

An IT enthusiast who is a brony? That is honestly exactly what I expected. Carry on.

"Everybody loves older Windows"
Windows Vista: 👁️👄👁️
But dual booting will be better
if the “good reasons” for using windows xp are that it can run better versions of windows, you have an objectively bad argument.
Lol i use 8.1
Omg it's a pony
My teacher pulled out an xp pc with crt because some software was on for physic
Good luck installing drivers on these things
You can get hacked easier with older and outdated Windows
so the reason to use older versions of windows is so that you can run newer versions of windows?

Somebody should try a Windows 11 VM in XP, then run an XP VM in 11.
I used windows rig ally
can you run windows xp with a vm of windows 10 with a VM of xp
OK cool. Why would you want to emulate a different os
XP holds a special place in my heart
God i miss windows 7 to this day

Imagine emulating Windows 11 and running multiple AI tools on a 1987 IBM 25 LS running Windows 2 💀
