I’m staying on windows 10 until they fix all the bugs with basic features on W11, like why does my file explorer randomly crash when I try to rename a folder, or why do programs just stop working when minimized sometimes?
You know what they should do they should implement like a setting in the start menu where you can add your own start menu picture so I can finally add the original start menu from Windows Vista LOL or 7
Ah windows 11 the bloated mess ahh the death of windows 7 the goat the day i switched to Arch Linux tried ubuntu for a week lol decided kde and arch looked better and would work better 😂
No one is using the start menu to search or go folder. Just set a shortcut on ur destop and everytime u need it just click on the destop not start menu. ;-:
In windows 11 you can change start menu without this recent added
Hot take but i liked the win8 and 8.1 start menu…except for the desktop tile. It had such an unique style
App folders and system folders have both existed since Vista
damn I didn't even know that existed
Install classic shell
My favorite start menu is LXQt fancy application menu. So simple and easy to customize.
Windows 10 honesty

Windows 10 had folders inside "folders"(categories), and that was great.
Me: searches "taskman" on Windows search
Windows: Want a Wikipedia search for Task Manager?
I always used the classic mode.

All what you said you can't hide, you actually can by editing registry
Yeah
It has all the options to customize it.
You can use fewer suggestions in the start menu and also can turn off the search results from the web.
It has all the things to do, but it's just a search away for you. 😊
In case you didn't know, you can customise Windows 11 start menu search results to prioritise local search results to be displayed at the top.
It would be so much better if the recommended section was a recent files section.
95 for me bc the chime
on eu you can remove bing search on search menu
classic shell wins this battle
Where's the stop menu
Windows 98 & 7
Am I the only person that knows about the setting that allows you to remove the recommended part?
It's windows 7

github wizards: fine i'll do it myself
I prefer the Win11
Windows 7 of course is the best, i will make a customizable Windows version, to get Windows 7 back safely. And Windows 7 had custom start folders too.
Everyone going on about start menu folders…. That's been a thing since XP!
Theres an option but u didn't know
You can turn off recommended tab
Everything good about the windows 11 start menu is also in windows 10 and everything bad isn't
use linux customization 🗣💯
There was a windows 10 beta build for the planned revamp which turned in to win 11 which was pretty gud if I remember correctly
