Windows 11 Microsoft might be removing unsupported PCs in 2025

It seems Microsoft might be scared of too many users running unsupported Windows 11 when Windows 10 end of support arrives.

  1. The more ms try’s to tighten its grip on users, more will slip thru there fingers. This will just force more ppl to stick with windows 10 or they move over Linux or to Mac OS.

Ms will be one responsible for killing windows 11 them-self, not the users. Nobody asked for more bloated windows 11. We were all lied too when ms said windows 10 be last OS. Well seems that actually might come true if ms continues to push this crap onto its community lol.

Good job ms. Your forcing more ppl stay with Win10 or forcing over too Linux. Lol

  2. You know the community is going to find ways round it, add to that with the cost of living issue, not everyone can afford a new PC that's super up to date. A lot of people will be sticking with Windows 10 or just using unsupported versions of Windows 11 as long as they safely can. Microsoft only seem to care about creating e waste at this point it's ridiculous.

  3. That is a commercial decision, it all depends on the acceptance of windows 11 after the windows 10 end of support next year. Let's wait and see. I don't believe there are definitive decisions already made.

  4. Hey, sorry small maybe Mini correction, perhaps does this mean that you could still do it unsupported if you have a TPM chip in there because I do remember hearing something about that earlier. So maybe this is just for non-TPM computers if that’s the case, then I’ll be OK. I have, two machines with not a until seven or later processor but they have until six so maybe if I’m lucky, I can do that sorry I guess it was eighth GEN and higher I guess for 11 right I’m not sure but anyway the point is, those machines do have TPM chips in them so maybe it’ll just beno more machines with TPM but hopefully that’ll be the case. I mean, I would rather have none of those restrictions but if we’re gonna have restrictions, I’d like it to be because all my machines have except for one TPM chips in them.

  5. Or just ditch Microsoft. They aren't the only game in town for people that don't want to buy a new PC. There's Wubuntu. There's Linux Mint. There's Android for PC. I've had enough of Microsoft.

  6. I’ve said this again time and time again, and I’m gonna say it again a couple things. First off, Congress needs to pass some serious laws here in America, to prevent this kind of unnecessary spending. Blind people particularly are gonna be the hardest hit by this. Because blind people can’t just run out to the store and buy a new another computer when they want to. There is a distributor called computers for the blind, which is finally beginning to sell windows 11 machines but is selling windows 10 machines for a lower price. Problem is, if Microsoft is going to stop supporting it when does 11 on unsupported machines and people decide to go for the cheaper windows 10 machine what’s gonna happen to their machines they’re not gonna be able to buy a new machine like that. Those machines are a reasonable price with certain grants and certain types of Ways. You can get a decent computer usually it’s a professional machine, which is pretty damn good. But still, this just shows you that these kinds of things need to be addressed sooner rather than later. So we need to make sure that blind people are still allowed to run some form whether be windows 10 free of charge with screen reader, access, or Someway to let them use windows 11. My guess is it would be option to find a way for them to run windows 11 since Microsoft really wants people to go off of 10. That would be the most sensible thing to do. now the blind this organizations need to get out there and start advocating for this instead of bragging how independent everyone is. We have to look out for everyone not just the blind people at the top who can afford a new machine. I talked to someone about this very issue about trying to get a resolution to this organization for making this happen and all they said well we budget if we budget enough we know we need to get a new machine in four years or so. Well, it’s not about budgeting. Some people can budget. Some people are privileged enough to budget not everyone can do that. some people have to choose between a new computer or being able to feed themselves. Plus, if Microsoft really wanted to get that higher rate of windows 11, this is not the right way to do it. I guess they don’t care about the environment do they they just speak they talk a lot, but they don’t walk the walk at all that. i’m hopeful that they’ll be some other loopholes found that can get around this cause people aren’t gonna stand for this. Some things I can understand maybe you can’t get around like the TPM and anything hardware related but I’m sure they’ll be a loophole that we will all be able to find and use. but the other thing is what if there is a Windows 12 like somebody else said next year and there is no windows 11 2025 version then that means they probably support it to like 2031 or something like that, and then it wouldn’t matter and by then, people should be on new machines by then I mean, there are probably still a lot of machines that could be used, but at least, things will be a little more even doubt so we’ll see. I’ll be very interested to see what happens next year.

  7. The problem is that we aren't offered things that makes people want to upgrade.
Try installing XP on a 286 and see how much fun you have. But run Windows 10 on a Core 2 Quad and you can live with it. A 4770 will still display email and YouTube videos for a few more years yet.

We have to invent ways of making perfectly serviceable hardware obsolete. Innovation is no longer the driving force.

  8. Only this weekend, I had a Dell E7470 i5-6300 but it had secure boot and I was able to update the TPM to 2.0 with no problem from the Dell utility – so I downloaded Win 11 and installed it via a USB drive using Windows media creation tool – it installed with no issues save for some Dell/Intel drivers for some items. Since this laptop was Win 10 pro, the license worked for win 11 and it is now fully updated. For now it seems that TPM2 and secure boot is all that is really required as the install did not warn about a Gen 6 CPU.
