When you select that you want the latest updates you are basically saying yes to become a beta tester, thats why I have that setting turned off.
I’m probably not going to update to this since it keeps failing every single time 🙄 I’ll have to wait
yes Pause the update too many issues
Issues with a Microsoft product?? I find that hard to believe – as hard as melted butter!
I wouldn'y be surprised if Microsoft uses certain versions of Windows like Home as a teeting ground before releasing to Enterprise;
I want to update my laptop to Windows 11 from Windows 10, is it better for me to update it to 23H2 or 24H2 now? Due to the issue that occurred in 24H2.
Installed on one of my PC, no issues for now.
I am using InControl app to stop 23h2 updating to 24h2
I installed it fresh on 3 different computers this week. It's not ready. All computers have problems with gui and responsiveness.
Deferring feature updates 180 days through active directory group policy was the smartest thing since disabling snapshots for Recall last month. My org is not beta testing.
Let's hope they come to their senses and either not have windows 11 home have bitlocker or device encryption or better yet focus on keeping windows 10 alive after 2025.
i have this update it was in windo update so i am stuck
It did install today, October 18th, on one of my laptops. So it hasn’t fully stopped deploying.
That update just nuked my pc yesterday. I have to format my hd again
My god, they are such a garbage company, and Windows is the steaming pile of rot at the top. Good videos though, keep them up.
I blew up my Win 11 23H2 by installing some old software, and couldn't recover. I used the media creation tool to rebuild. I was surprised to see 24H2 got installed! I was steering clear of it! It's working fine so far. Guess I lucked out. I like it. Feels a little like older Windows in that you have more control over things.
Upgraded one of my PCs and cannot connect to the other one through my home network. It can see the other PCs but cannot find their address or asks for credencials.
Makes me wonder if these Microsoft screwups are caused by the layoffs at the company…
Makes me glad (to a degree) that I decided to hold off updating for a while. I did come across a video on another channel that talks about how you can change the registry to stay with your current version and keep it from automatically updating to 24H2. So, I'm definitely considering doing that.
Sounds like Windows Explorer has been substantially rewritten and there are … a lot of bugs. The only reason I can think of for such a substantial rewrite is the desire to include substantial new features. New features like 'recall'.
I'm running 23H2 on my system and have not been offered the 24H2 update as of now.
Yeah I permanently paused 24H2 by getting rid of Windows.
