Windows 11 24H2 – The End of Ancient CPUs?



Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26052 (released to Canary and Dev Channels of the Windows Insider Program) has the version number changed to 24H2. Version 24H2 is coming later in 2024. In recent builds, it’s reported that CPUs manufactured before 2010 are now blocked from booting – it stucks at the Windows boot logo without the spinner. Luckily, someone has made a custom Windows PE (Preinstallation Environment) that allows checking if your CPU is affected.
