PS: You can use this on 1, 2, 3, or more monitors.
AlomWare Toolbox does it better (called "PC States"), and you can restore states with hotkey, on a schedule, system tray, and in the app.
I hope they will bake this feature to Windows as part of Windows Snap feature. Unlike in current form in Power Toys, if the captured workspaces have apps snapped, that should be remembered and still snapped, not like currently were app windows are just literally been resized to fit, thus loosing your last resized window.
It should create a shortcut to Taskbar or Start Menu as well, not just on desktop only and it should have icon that representing this. Maybe something similar to Start folders but something more obvious that it is not a folder tile. Maybe if hovered, it should also show the layout of how the windows will be arranged. Like a Taskbar thumbnails but just an outline with app icons instead, not a literal snapshot of the app itself.
They do need to fix that limitation where it should just re-open already opened apps, instead of opening a new instances. If user do want to open another same instance, then it should be only invoked like using middle-click button and under right-click menu.
If this become a Windows feature, this setting should be synced to Microsoft Account as well, so user can also restore the settings after reformat of the same PC or even simply copy to another user's PC using same MSA. As long as user have the same apps installed.
It would be also nicer to have option to have it auto-run after logon.
But Windows 11 already has similar to arrange windows hasn't it?
Super useful. I wonder if works with my 3 monitors? My actual workspace I have 1 App on top, 1 app on the main, and 2 apps on the right monitor.
