  1. I dont just want to switch to linux because my programs does not probably support linux and i would be good if i could install windows 11 because windows 10 isn't updating soon and my computer does not support 11

  2. adobe products, sure, it is what it is.
anticheat, yep, cant do anything about that.
but performance?? nah man. if there is a performance loss at all, it is so small that you'd likely have issues measuring it. on top of that, linux is waaaay more resource efficient, which might actually end up giving you more performance.

  3. I have some problems with switching to Linux
    1. Discord or steam had some bugs. If I found one where steam ran perfectly fine with multiple drives, then discord had problems with streams. If streams work steam had problems
    2. The photo editing software I use does not run on Linux and I can't get the installation any more to try if it runs. Although most do at this point
    3. Some games I sometimes play, do not work as well on Linux as on Windows

But I just bought a laptop that has an iGPU from AMD and I plan on running Linux on it, because I plan on using it for Programming

  4. Wine is on many linux distros and gaming has become much easier on linux as of recently, Valve's proton also really help too! And the thing about Adobe products, i recommend you try to use alternatives a bit more, trying it out a while a day and such.

  5. Proton is great these days, you may consider giving Linux another try for gaming. The performance hit is very little on many titles. I also just choose not to play games with kernel level anti cheat because I donโ€™t believe in giving any third party software that kind of access to my computer. Plus, some anti cheat incompatibility with Linux is an active choice by developers to not simply flip a switch in their code because theyโ€™re stubborn and lazy.

However, the creative software is definitely a place that needs some improvement.

  6. This is also my problem with Linux. I mean, I love the distro choices (I actually just switched my old Windows laptop to running Kubuntu Linux), but there isn't enough support for video editing, especially for the most commonly used programs.
Like for example, I use Vegas Pro for most of my video editing work/jobs, and the fact that Linux doesn't support it natively is a deal breaker for me. I mean, I guess you can try using Wine or virtual machines or other emulators to run these programs, but they can sometimes freeze/crash. ๐Ÿ˜…

(and before you ask, No, I don't like switching to alternative programs)

  7. These reasons are not valid.
Games run better on linux for me than they do on windows (not 30 fcking antivirus, spying and other processes running lol). Except for kernel level anticheats ofc. But I don't want such an anticheat anyway (privacy nightmare, even you got "nothing to hide", you still don't want people to watch you poop)

And Adobe is like apple, expensive and crap. I think if you tried you could get away from them easily (exept from the cancallation fee ๐Ÿ˜‚. But thats something you agreed upon)

    This is my opionion!

  8. Games are not inherently made for Linux because there are no users. Graphics drivers are usually not available since there are less games to go with. Without drivers we users are better off gaming on windows. Wait a minute, it is a f*cking feedback loop!

  9. I just moved to linux yesterday on my main and i gotta say IT'S F*CKING AWESOME like seriously i got 200more frames in minecraft than on windows and im now installing gta V and cs 2 but installing vmware is a hassle ngl

  10. Proton speed is like 95% of what you'd get in windows sometimes faster than windows. (Not saying linux gaming is better than windows) unless you play games with kernel level anti cheat if that the case then understandable I wouldn't use Linux too.

  11. I dont use linux because it doesnt fit me. No matter how much i try. I cant get linux to feel good as how it felt on windows. Linux feels janky to me. I switched from Fedora to mint then mint to popOS then popOS to ubuntu and still cant go like "Wow linux feels better than windows"

  12. Exactly, a lot office stuff is even easier and faster to run on linux but if you have a problem just pray that the only one mentioned it on the internet 10 years ago have a solution that will work with you. Not like Windows where youโ€™ll have a lot of people talk about any issue you would face
