It's hands and shoulders are so ugly lol it's hard for me to like it but otherwise it is a good mech
Recently I tried 6 a medium pulse laser Stormcrow in MWO, and in my first match I solo-killed a pair of Locusts which were hunting a Marauder IIC. My match damage wasn't that high, but the Marauder IIC I saved went on to deal 800 damage, which felt nice.
The build also works in tabletop, and with the better heatsink efficiency in tabletop you can add a targeting computer to improve the accuracy of the pulse lasers, and still have 5 tons left over – More than enough to add a plasma rifle with two tons of ammo π

Sixteen TONS of Gauss Ammo?! Oh boy I can snipe for DAYS! Weeks!
Caaw
Hi me again, your personal nightmare. so when dose 2 x 6 = 15 ? sorry I went to a convent school. apart from all the dirty habbots I had to put up with, seems itr was one up on the school you went to. my very best to you and yours, PS pass my best on to mini frog for me. Leona
It is a weird looking Mech!π€ But Go Crow!πππ
Not glory to me but a Stormcrow was the perpetrator of one of my worse defeats. My mech is my beloved Warhammer 6R refitted into Royal configuration with the ferro fiberous artimis iv for the srm and double heatsinks. On that day in a free for all tournament i was having the absolute worst luck in roles and hadnt been able to score a meaningful hit. Another player in the Beta configuration got close enough for a long range UAC20 shot…..
Right through the head.
Shortest match i had played in years.
This design is close to peak use of the Clan XL Engine, Ferro Fibrous Armour and Endo Steel Frame
Most heavier designs are making sacrifices in terms of critical slots which limit use of the weight because of the weight saving tech
This never feels too constrained by slots, while still having good weight for loadouts
Because it's objectively one of the best mech designs in the history of the game
A perfect balance of the triangle
Regarding the Attwater Storm Crow;
It is used for Solahma units. Expedites the process.
Quality battlemech. Stats and build aside, love its unusual design profile.
Didn't we kill a bunch of these Mech in MechWarrior 3 with a Bushwhacker and no it was not the best Mech at the time it was the one you gave you when you landed on Huntress.
AT LONG LAST IT'S FINALLY HERE.
And doesn't disappoint. Watched this over a fine meal of ribs, chicken wings, and Cheerwine.
I concur that the C configuration is highly underrated. Once shot down a Hiryu WiGE down with a single shot of cluster with one once, been a big fan ever since. Even kitbashed a miniature Stormcrow C so I could have a proper looking figurine to play with.
Finally, as a reminder, the Stormcrow has small hands so that there is less space for victory to potentially slip through.
Awesome vid!^^
The Stormcrow was my favorite medium mech in Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries. Didn't have much of a insta-death armament, but I liked the way I could balance weapons, armor, and speed.
The Stormcrow is an attack helicopter on legs, which is an inherently cool aesthetic for a mech to have. It's way better looking than basically any of the "man in a robot suit" designs.
The Stormcrow Prime is almost flawless. It doesnt have too few heat sinks, too little ammunition, its almost doesnt have gaps, it doesnt carry jump jets that dont match the walking speed.
Its just really solid which is odd for Battletech, more for the Clans, and especially in the early wave of clan mechs which tended to be unbalanced messes.
The closest Inner Sphere equivalent of the Stormcrow Prime is another of my favorites, the 50ton Crab medium battlemech.
The A-D configurations are also fairly solid. I would change the Stormcrow Bs Ultra AC-20 for a Gauss Rifle though. They carry decent if not high amounts of ammunition. The D carries enough missiles to fire all its Long Range Missiles for 18turns. Dedicated Missile boats dont carry that much.
I do hate that the Stormcrow B unevenly has 6 ER Medium lasers in one location, and Arm. Thats just asking to be blown off.
What makes the Stormcrow great to me is that its got the ideal balance. Its faster than most mechs, especially Inner Sphere medium mechs, but its also heavily armed. Most heavy and assault mechs cannot catch it either because of its speed. That means its not a Rock-Paper-Scisors, but Dynamite.
Just popped up in my head, but why not exploit it being an omnimech to make it fit all the 275 Trio's equipment loadouts, but better?
You hit one of my favorites here. So many fond memories of the earlier days of MW:O running in an SRM-bomb Crow configuration. That and I have a nice Stormcrow cutaway poster from the '90s hanging in a frame in my downstairs game room.
You speak lies and foul heresy! The Stormcrow is a mech of supreme beauty and grace!
The Stormcrow is about as close to acceptable as it gets for overpriced Omnimechs for me, as far as reasonable configurations go anyway.
I'd still rather have my Conjurer, but since Clan society is built heavily around the Warrior Caste resolving internal disputes with on the spot honor duels…well, the omni-mech makes sense there.
But for actual military campaigns, uniformity and affordability within supply lines is what wins wars 9 times out of 10. Very rarely are wars decided by tactical choices; which is what omni-mechs like the Stormcrow excel at. (Hannibal famously defeated the Romans at Cannae, but ultimately lost the war anyway because the Roman army was just too big and well supplied to completely break)
That said, it's a pretty rad looking omni-mech with top marks for fundamental specs (again…for an omnimech) and it's closer to my style of combat than most omnis will ever achieve. Not quite perfect, but as close as it's going to get in canon configs.
This Mech takes my heart by storm… crow… π¬π
The Stormcrow might be the best general-purpose 'mech of the OG Omnis. Its fairly fast, it has decent armor, and can mount enough weapons.
