  1. So the best cpu to buy rn would probably be the 7950x3d. Reason being microcenter has it listed at $499 and they offer a bundle which includes a motherboard and ddr5 48gb kit of ram for $704. Which i think is a great deal imo

  2. Do you have 65w eco mode for 7950x? Much better efficiency with small drop in hashrate. 25.7 on spr with cpu package power at 88watts. So efficiency score of 292.05. It is a similar boost in efficiency in other coin algos as well.

  3. I've written a previous comment stating the 9000 series is disappointing for mining, but now I would like to add something new that I didn't consider before. It's not unusual for mining software to have optimizations tailored to each CPU family. For example, xmrig optimizes the hashrate by tweaking the MSR registers of each particular CPU model. I've just had a look at xmrig repository at github, and the latest release doesn't have the MSR mod for Zen 5 CPUs yet.

So perhaps we could see a little improvement in hash rates for the 9000 series, as newer mining software versions are released.

  4. I think the 9000 series is pretty disappointing. Given the poor results in gaming reviews, I didn't expect a significant increase in hash rates. But I anticipated an improvement in efficiency due to the newer 4nm node from TSMC. This didn't happen either. Unless sth magical happens with the new motherboards/bioses, I guess we can pretty much skip this series.

I have one little question… What RAM kit have you used for the tests? With EXPO profile on I guess?

  5. As always my brother Rabid, it all depends where you are living and if you have an healthy market around you.
Here in Thailand, everything is a conglomerate, so no real competition, so everything expensive even old CPUs ๐Ÿคฎ
