The cars at the August 2024 VSCC Prescott speed hillclimb, both in the public car parking areas and also out on the hill, were something to behold. In this Old Classic Car video, I visit the VSCC Prescott 2024 meeting and take an in-depth walkaround of the wonderfully laid-back paddock area, where all manner of vintage racing cars were being fettled. If you only visit one vintage or classic car event in a show season, and are fond of the older cars that feature in this upload, then VSCC Prescott would be my recommendation.
At lunchtime I, along with my youthful assistant, head over to the huge vintage car parking area in the old orchard, to admire the road cars that were also in attendance. It was quite a sight, with all shapes and sizes of MG, GN, Bentley, Talbot, Alvis, Frazer Nash and many more to be found. One of the highlights was a super-original Dodge Brothers tourer, very similar to the ’24 car we owned for a decade not long ago. Quite a few classic cars were also to be found, rubbing shoulders with the older vintage cars that form the backbone of the VSCC (Vintage Sports Car Club) events.
A couple of very interesting cars also popped up in the regular public car park while we were grabbing a bite to eat, one being a spectacular Mercedes-Benz 300SL “Gullwing”.
We’ve been to quite a few VSCC events over the last few years, and the August 2024 Prescott hillclimb was right up there in terms of sights, sounds, and overall enjoyment. I hope this video proves to be of interest.
