Virtualization
VDI – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is a technology that allows desktop operating systems and applications to run on virtual machines (VMs) hosted on centralized servers. Instead of being installed and run on individual physical devices, the desktop environment is hosted and managed in a data center. Users access their virtual desktops remotely, and the client device (thin client, PC, or other devices) handles the user interface.
The Security+ exam may cover topics related to virtualization and desktop security. Be prepared to understand the basics of VDI, hypervisors, remote desktop protocols, security considerations, and deployment models.
