In this video, we will be upgrading the ESX Host from 7.0 to 8.0 through vcenter.
ESX 8.0 ISO will be required
Hardware Requirement for ESX 8 installation
Below are the steps to follow:
Step 1: upload the ISO in lifecycle Manage
Step 2: Create Baseline.
Step 3: Attach the baseline to ESX Host
Step 4 : Put the ESX Host in maintenance Mode
Step 5 : Check compliance.
Step 6 : Precheck Remediate
Step 7 : Remediate
The Host will be rebooted after applying the updates.
Note:
The Baseline will show non-compliant in the compliance check, if one or more patches, extensions, or upgrades in the baseline are applicable to the target object but are not installed.
Once the upgrade is completed, it will show compliant.
