My first attempt at dredging was Resurrection Creek in Hope AK a long time ago. When I cleaned up at the end of the day I was confused by the silverish color of some flakes/pieces. I had heard about gold that had mercury but never seen it. It was very cool when I pulled out my loupe and saw those pieces had mercury. It was a liquid coating. Like it would just drip off.
I learned that day to never, ever put a piece of gold in my mouth to wash it off.
Really beautiful area, cleaning the crevices is really intriguing to me Thanks for sharing
