The tips on how to mine diamonds are just as dull as "how do I knock down my first tree". Absolute early game, the number of diamonds you need UNBOUND is so small that I don't go mining anymore and there are village residents for everything else.
I did, in fact, not know this trick. Back in my day weโd dig straight down.
1. Always bring lava bucket or empty bucket with you
2. Collect lava source into the bucket
3. Pour it into another source
4. You now have one less lava in the lavifer
5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until lavifer is empty
It doesn't work on my version….

The best tip is dig around it it helps

If you do want to find diamonds under lava lakes, turn on the f3 menu and look around. If there is diamonds, it will say targeted_block:diamond_ore

For Java: go in the middle of the sea, look for a cave, bring a door with you, look for any signs of lush / moss blocks, break moss blocks, jackpot, underwater cave pools with diamonds and mineshafts
If you find a big underwater cave just use magma and you can mine as normal while in the air pocket and it works in bedrock and Java, your welcome
It's easy to see diamonds when you have FULLBRIGHT on.
Going in caves is too op, maybe dangerous for new players, but the best strat for pros
Or just use f3 menu and on the right side it'll show the block you are looking at (even if under lava)

Someone did the math, and looting end cities is the actual best way to get diamonds, so even this tip is wrong

If you want drain some lava carry scaffolding. A stack goes a long way and it's really easy to pick up again ๐
you could also just use the F3 menu to scan through a lava pool, as it would tell you what blocks are underneath the lava
For strip mining, crawl with swift sneak and branch every two blocks. Y = -52 is the lowest level that keeps a block between you and lava.

Actually if you mine skulk with a hoe in a big cave (ancient city also works) it can reaveal so many diamonds. I got 51 ore from this trick

GO IN CAVE AND IN CAVE LOOK FOR SMALL WATER THING AND MINE IN THERE! I mean there isnt reason not to water is see throughout and spawns veins which frequently has 7-8 diamonds combine it with fortune 3 and your rich

Spam buckets (iron farm may be needed)
Repeatedly fill a bucket and empty it into a lava source
Fire resistance potion
Or just donโt. Lava lakes suck anyway.
