I just bought a manual M2cs. When the rumor broke I was frightened that I made a terrible financial decision, this turned out to be a wonderful financial and happiness in a car decision.
The Mazda remote feature is sth i understand, as they have ongoing costs, to pay for the servers, security, etc.. But, when you buy a >$30,000 new car, should that not maybe be within the price?
As with most subscription models, i believe you are financially better off, buying than renting, if you are going to use the product for a long time. Like buying songs and movies off ebay, instead of paying monthly $50-$100 for Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Spotify, Hbo, Paramount, etc, etc…
but to be fair, my car is so old it does not even have remote auto lokcing doors and i don't plan to buy anything newer, only bigger 😉 As i enjoy to be able to fix my own car. Which is frankly a complete cramp for anything built since ~2005. (Example: Did you know that, if your gas cap opening servo breaks in a modern car, you might have to take out the whole trunk liner and sides, as the servo is often dually used to also lock the trunk and is connected to the gas cap via a cable pulley. Yeah no thanks, did that once and never again. I much rather have a simple maunal lock. Not even talking about laughably weak oil pumps & oil pressure, razor thin head gaskets and porouse turbos, to high combustion pressure, due to overregulation leading to tiny engine sizes, which will all work together to kill your shiny new car before 200k miles.) So definetly not the customer base for that stuff either, haha.

“Collector cars”.. or more so just “special models”… DOUG HAS SINGLE HANDEDLY INCREASED PRICES ON!! Ppl who had NO CLUE, are now going after them ! & thanks to all the IDIOTS OVERPAYING on Card&Bids, $ increases even more ! I just can’t believe how many fools have essentially made Doug rich off THEIR CARS !! It’s insane to me nobody seems to notice this. Guess that’s just our current 50% brain dead society 🤦🏾♂️
