Question about scraping? How to scrape your recently added game without scraping the rest of your game that are already scrape 😵💫
You can keep your Roms in whatever location you want and not copy them over to RetroBat Roms Folder. Run the BatGui executable and go to the system you want to add roms to, e.g Sega – Saturn , click on the three dots on Roms Path and navigate to where your Saturn roms are. You can also just copy and paste the paths, its quicker. Do this for every system and you are done. It's a long process as well but beats having to copy your roms over, if you already have a permanent location.
Sorry if this has beeen covered, but seeing as my rog ally is a windows pc, would this be a good alternative to emudeck? I mever really took to that one.
I love using BigBox, but I wish I could boot directly into it. I have heard about doing a "Kiosk Mode" setup that should achieve this effect; I would love to see a video on that, if you're willing.
Also, I personally use a combination of CRT filter + [the setting that adds pixels to mitigate 'stretching effect'] + 16:9 and my pixel-based games look fantastic, even those that are native 4:3. And for GameBoy games, I use the setting in RetroArch that colorizes OG GB games and I personally love to play them that way.
Damn it Russ you never seize to amaze me, you absolute Legend thank you 👍🏽
Bios files any tips to find all?
Thanks a lot for this. My main computer's emulation setup has been a rolling set of folders for over a decade and is a total mess and probably a super inefficient with the amount of space it takes up. This is a great excuse to finally dive in and clean it all up, while making everything easier to play.
🇬🇦 Mbolo/Salama/Hi👋🏿,man your videos are always helpful so am definitely going to download Retrobat! Thanks for the amazing video
Some of these emulators allow hd texture packs. Can you set these up using Retrobat?
Thank you for your service 🇺🇸
0:46 NO! I don't want to snack or drink!
can i change the directory it pulls the roms from? or create shortcuts from another location? I don't have the space to double my roms and I try to not move files around too much on the ssd
READ ME —– I would REALLY recommend installing to an EMPTY HDD. installing to your C: is a bad idea if u have a big library. you can use batgui to setup a external folder but i dont really recommend it either. just buy a 4tb/8tb and make it a dedicated emulation drive. and just use retrobat structure. Youll thank me later (at least your C:/ drive will)
I love Retrobat – best emulation frontend on PC
Does retrobat reduce performance vs just using standalone emulators? Same question for retroarch and batocera. The community needs a simple answer. Thank you.
This will be perfect if they could get the Sinden Lightgun working natively w/in it. Needing the Sinden software running in parallel kind of defeats the purpose. Especially when there are standalone images designed solely for the light gun where their operation is automatic.
Why does switch emulator say that no emulator is detected when I placed the prod keys files in savesswitchryujinxportablesystem directory ?? any solution. bcoz I couldn't find a roms folder for switch
I didn't know the trick to change the grid art! Thank you so much for that
I'm setting up emulationstation in Linux Mint, for use as a hybrid desktop / gaming PC. Hopefully it won't be too time-consuming to set up.
Cool stuff. I need to watch this a few more times before I dive in. Awesome guide, thanks.
Tack!
YouTube recommended this video, and I'm glad I discovered this emulation setup. I started setting up all the rooms and bios files on Retrobat and it is now my favorite way to use emulators.
I've wanted to love Launchbox so many times, but it's such a dog, no matter what hardware I try to run it on. I was aware of Retrobat, but hadn't looked into it very much; thanks for putting this together.
So I told myself, and dedicated myself to an Xbox Series X as the lounge emulation machine. It was from FB market place for a good price – dedicated the whole storage to dev mode and the emulation…
I watch this and still want a mini PC: so much more straightforward 😅😅
Love the butter scale. (sponsored by Kerry gold)
Awesome video as always! RetroBat looks way easier to setup than what I was doing with LaunchBox. I'll definitely have to give it a try. P.S. It's pronounced 8bitDO not 8bitDOE. 🙂
I was gonna say Playnite but you have already mentioned it before I finish typing this comment. It's little bit complicated to setup but I use this because it's integrated everything I have (PC games and all other emulator)
Freakin' awesome bro'! Definitely checking this emulation setup out –
The Kerrygold butter size comparison really helps, thanks Russ. 😂
Only issue I have found with Retrobat is I can't seem to get PS2 emulation working with any of my controllers. I have a wired 360 controller, an 8bitdo SN30 pro+, and the 8bitdo Ultimate Wireless controller. When I try to play PS2, the buttons are never mapped right (for example pressing down on the Left stick is start for some reason) and even when I map the controllers, it doesn't seem to ever actually use the mapping. I tried mapping in Retrobat and in PCSX2 so that has been silly.
Finally got around to watching this, and I'm so glad I did. You did an amazing job explaining the process and all the extras like the accessories and you even squeezed in a mini PC review!
