I was really looking for something like this! Thanks for the video 🙂
I'm so glad that you replied to my comment sir actually i want to install a thing named as ulauncher you can check about it on google its made for linux it can be used to launch apps files and much more things so i was wondering if you can get it working in hyprland and sorry for commenting seperately bcz whenever i was replying to you youtube is hiding my replies
I knew about the dotfiles and the script for quite some time now but I just found out that you have a youtube channel which helped me a lot since I use nobara linux I need to configure some settings manually thanks a lot 🙂
Looks really nice, but not for me. I've realised that I'm getting much more efficient with keyboard shortcuts since using your ML4W, I don't need my mouse as much which is perfect for work! Do you have any plans to look at Cosmic? 🙂
Awesome dock, thank you for sharing this. Any tips on directing to start on a particular monitor? I have gotten the exec-once command working but it starts it on my far right monitor instead of middle monitor. I love dock, as an avid mac user and hyprland, it gives me some common ground when working on a Mac all day when I get home. I jsust have my 3 most used apps on it. I tried something like this, but didnt work:
exec-once=[workspace 3 silent] nwg-dock-hyprland -i 32 -w 5 -mb 10 -ml 10 -x -c "rofi -show drun" -lp start
exec-once=[workspace 1 silent] alacritty
exec-once=[workspace 2 silent] google-chrome
next
when I update dotfiles using ml4w-hyprland-setup then the 3 finger swipe not working how i fix it please help
At long last! Now all I need is hot-monitor-edges to help me move between workspaces; then I can choose if I want to use the keyboard or mouse, depending on where I happen to be.
I think it is important to make a system user friendly to the point where someone else can use my machine as well.
Most people are accustomed to using the mouse for navigation. Monkey see, monkey do. With the mouse you can quickly show a child how to navigate. With the keyboard people's eyes quickly glaze over.
Well done. I linked the video in README, hope you don't mind. Many thanks!
Nice video, Stefan! Do also check out Piotr's other tools, like nwg-shell, nwg-panel etc. All available for Hyprland as well.
While you are at it, add gammastep by default to your dotfiles and the installation scipt and sway-osd.
More toys! Nwg look has been styling helper for a few months for my hyprland DE. Dock may be fun to play with, but it does not fit in my keyboard centric hyprland world. Nice toy though.
How does hyprland compare with KDE for gaming and VRR support?
No I don't want a dock on my window manager. But I like the video
Thanks for the video. I love hyprland and I've been using exclusively tiling wm or DEs like Cosmic for the last 4 years.
Sometimes I'm just not using the keyboard, maybe because I'm eating pizza and watching youtube videos. Or because Im using some GUI app which demands mouse. I think having both options (control the WM with the keyboard and the mouse) is great, I don't see a tiling WM and a dock or hot corners are not compatible
hey man i love your videos i was wondering if there's a way to install a keystroke launcher for files and applications on hyprland if you know please make a video on it 🖤✨
This whole setup looks like a really modern version of XFCE, with the Dock, Bar at the top and the Window Manager being Hyprland and it using Wayland. Major Props to everyone involved!
The video is super well made as usual, but personally I dont see why anyone would want a dock while using a tiling wm. The point kinda is to not use the mouse with a tiling WM, so you launch the most used apps with keybinds or the less used once with something like rofi.
Excelente video saludos acá new Jersey
it a cool thing for hyprland i guess
Noooo I just made a Dock via a second waybar
Cool, is it possible to set the dock to window dodge? What I mean is that It stays visible on the desktop but when a window opens it disappears and you have to move the mouse down to reveal it
If everyone make Linux like Windows for new users they will Definitely go back to Windows after some time i personally used cinimon for 2weeks(biggener friendly) switch back windows because it didn't offer anything different
But when i change to hyprland it completely changes my view so i will be using Linux for past 3 months
Why would someone need a dock on a window tiling manager
