Like how do people listen to this nonsense and actually believe him? How stupid does one have to be not to see just how much BS he is talking? Take the analogy for human driving as example… it becomes a "background task" because your brain invests more brain power into it by creating new synapses, where as when you start out it takes a lot of focus because you are operating on a bottleneck. But Computers don't work like that. Computers ain't brains! The bottleneck is the processing power, no matter how many connections your database could handle, if your hardware can't access it all, it doesn't matter. Unless he plans to revolutionize Chipset technology to a degree Nvidia and other Chipset manufacturers, even the military grade ones, ain't able to for at least another decade to come… he will never have the processing power of all those GPU banks in a tiny car chip… I'd ask what he is smoking, but we do actually know which drugs he is on.. so F-ing hell, maybe he should stop taking them… and the sad thing is, people actually think this guy actually knows what he is talking about when he is selling them a pie in the sky.

In the space of a minute I heard Musk and his guy say 5-fold, 6-fold, 3 orders of magnitude, 100x and 1000x and I think they were both talking about the same thing? This instantly screams to me how they can't be taken seriously because this is how marketers talk, not engineers. If they want to give their investors some deliverables, they need to say 'this started at X and a year later we had it up to Y, and next year we implement this and this and predict it will be up to Z' Talking like they do is like a graph with unlabeled axes, it's just meaningless line goes up talky talk.

Elon Musk has so many followers, and he uses this to influence the stock price. Every time he puts on this marketing show. Next year… the stock prices go up. As long as people/investors believe in it and are willing to invest. No problem. Many examples of companies that even made no profit at all during years and are still in business. It's like the government debt keeps growing, but as long as the creditors believe it's no problem, the government can keep loaning at decent/low interest rates. Important note: Trust, believe gone –> total collapse.

this is really difficult to listen to. I'm guessing none of the investors are challenging the obvious lies and brazen gas lighting, because they want to maintain confidence in the stock. I'd be grateful if someone would explain if this is typical in earning calls, why is there no push back? Especially since there are blatant failures of delivery like the semi-truck, roadster, and how FSD has been promised since 2012
I can’t wait to get in a Robo taxi that has no manual override switch and therefore it’s only potential for egress is hitting something on a touchscreen, which I really hope has a screen reader building as I am blind, and one of the main cohorts that use taxis all the time. 20-30% increase year over year in anything is absurd. The only reasons this company claims to be profitable are bookkeeping gymnastics which are illegal, and the random layoff of 30% of the workforce.
