Does anybody know why it wont let me type the universblue password? it just wont. I get to that page and it stops me from going further. using portable key board. both the one used in the video and normal plug in keyboard. does anybody have this problem? and if so what's the work around?

I got to the screen to put password in for mok and it won't let me put the password in with the same key board you're using how did you put the password in?
Can I ask you which operating system runs emulators better bazzite or windows I want to see which OS is more optimized to run a ps3 emulator.

Hi Russ, first thanks for the great video! I installed Bazzite on my Ally (Z1E) – well actually on a magnetic external NVMe enclosure which allows passthrough charging – so the two systems are separate. Since it's an og Ally I decided against using my SD card for Steam games and set it up for retro gaming with your EmuDeck guide. Right now it is working from the Windows side but I think EmuDeck might be better from the Bazzite side. What is your opinion? Does Bazzite's sleep mode working with emulators too? Is it more/less stable? Thank you for your (or anyone else's) help! π

I'm curious whether the heat sink truly won't be needed on the 4TB drive. That drive will almost certainly run hotter than the 1TB original.

@Retro Game Corps Hey Ross, quick question, when booting up your Ally X from cold boot into Bazzite OS, do you hear a couple of static/crackling sound from the Speakers? I don't have this issue with Windows but started happening as soon as I installed Bazzite and wondering if it's a Bazzite or my Ally X.

Weird…on my Legion Go it shows I have about 975GB but "size of available shrink space" is only showing about 60GB. Any idea why my shrink space is so small compared to your huge 800GB available space?

When starting up the Ally X, it goes through a short script before going into the ROG and Bazzite startup image, is that normal? I searched the video to see if you were seeing the same thing on start up but not seeing anything. First time doing this so i dont know if its normal.

I just got my Ally X and I thought the Windows experience would be ok, but boy, I was SO wrong. It's awful. I'm so glad Bazzite exists! It is a night and day difference. I chose to keep my Windows partition at only 90GB. I only intend to use it for firmware updates via the ASUS update software. It is basically a firmware update slave – I do not intend on actually using Windows for anything else. Thank you for this guide!!

Hey, anyone have any audio drop outs on Bazzite via HDMI connection on the ROG ally X? I got a new tv and the audio consistently drops in an out with bazzite on the Ally x connected to my TV and it didint used to do that on my old tv. Didnt know if anyone had any fixes or advice for this type of issue.
Can you use AFMF with Bazzite? I want a Steam Deck experience on my Ally X, but would also like AFMF on it too.
This just needs a bootloader that lets you choose between them when you power on rather than needing to go into the bios every time you want to load windows. Then we just need to replace that little xbox logo on the steam game mode screen with a little ROG logo. π

How do you lower the resolution from 1080p to say 900p? I tried to find that and it seems stuck at 1080p, so i would have to adjust it within the game if a number of them can find that option because they go by the 720p/1080p
How is Bazzite with games that do not require much performance as they have low power TDP on steam deck, versus on windows?

Bazzite's documentation being so thorough and professional convinces me that they will be in it for the long haul. And I'm almost certain that the next time I wipe my Steam Deck to fulfill my tinkering craving, Bazzite's going in instead of SteamOS.

Does Bazzite let you control the rear buttons (or even recognize them?) in the controller settings menu in the SteamOS overlay?

1 question, when you reinstall windows, that new windows software it's activated ? or need to be activated?
just an fyi you don't necessarily have to split your storage in half I also got a 4tb drive but Setup 3 partitions. 1 106gb for windows 1 106gb for bazzite then the rest as a game partition where both windows and bazzite can both access it. also you don't really need to decrypt bit locker on your original drive unless you need data off of it. if your just re-installing from scratch that is kind of an extra step. Just format it and use it as an external or something.
I have an emudeck setup on microSD from my Steam Deck – if I install Emudeck through bazzite, will I be able to just pop in the same SD card and have it find my game / saves / etc? Or are there additional steps I'd need to follow in order to migrate my installation?

@RetroGameCorps FYI I went through the whole process verbatim, however when I restart it puts me in the grub menu and after a few seconds it launches into Bazzite/SteamOS. I reached out to Bazzite and they told me that this is default behavior and you can hide the grub menu by typing `ujust configure-grub` into terminal. Awesome video as always! π
