South Africa mining standoff: Reports say 700 held underground by criminal gangs
Hundreds of people remain underground in an illegal gold mine in South Africa.
The rescue operation has been delayed as the cage that will be lowered down the shaft hasn’t arrived.
On Sunday, 14 people, including a teenage boy, resurfaced and were taken into custody.
Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports from Stilfontein in the North West province, South Africa.
