Sharepoint file migration: From On-premises file server to Sharepoint Cloud. #cloudmigration

Cloud computing services can generally be categorized into three main types: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). Here’s a brief overview of each:

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS):
IaaS provides virtualized computing resources over the internet. Users can rent IT infrastructure like virtual machines, storage, and networking resources on a pay-as-you-go basis. This allows businesses to scale their infrastructure up or down as needed without investing in physical hardware. Popular examples of IaaS providers include Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Platform as a Service (PaaS):
PaaS provides a platform allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without dealing with the complexities of infrastructure management. PaaS offerings typically include tools and services for application development, testing, deployment, and hosting. Developers can focus on writing code while the platform takes care of managing the underlying infrastructure. Examples of PaaS providers include Heroku, Google App Engine, and Microsoft Azure App Service.

Software as a Service (SaaS):
SaaS delivers software applications over the internet on a subscription basis. Instead of purchasing and installing software locally, users can access applications through a web browser or API. SaaS applications are typically hosted and maintained by the service provider, relieving users of the burden of software maintenance, updates, and support. Examples of SaaS include Salesforce, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, and Slack.
