Self Hosted Period Tracking App For Menstruation 🩸️

Apparently the language used in the original title was seen as problematic by some for its assumption that "Self Hosted Period Tracking App For Your Menstruatiing Partner 🩸" is assuming that the one running the home lab is not the one who menstruatins implying that the one who menstruates is always the OTHER party relying on the home lab maintainer. I can see the point in this criticism, ultimately i obviously wasn't intending anything remotely negative by this video, only to highlight a project in my special interest (tech) that i got to apply to my real life to the benefit of both me and my partner and the title was set from MY frame of reference, in that i AM the one with the home lab and my partner is the one who menstruates.

The original title however doesn't imply anything about relational norms so to assume that a man is running the homelab is reaching in my opinion as it doesn't exclude the possibility of, say, a lesbian running the homelab for their menstruating partner. so the default assumption of cishet male and female relational norms is a problematic assumption on the part of others.

overall i hope that by changing the title, and by elaborating here further, my innocent intention and positive outcome from this project will shine through, because i was just happy to help my fiance and we worked on this together and she loves it. so sorry if i upset anyone, hopefully we can get back to enjoying the video and nerding out on the tech 🙂

I get why you did this and you certainly had good intentions BUT the title of you video is just sexist and there already is a better, local FOSS alternative. It's called Drip and fills the first 5 results of a internet search for "open source period tracker".
