Sega Mega Drive Dev – Linux Install and Setup
In this video I show how to install the Marsdev toolchain and set it up to use the SGDK (Sega Development Kit), which is for windows.
I first go though the install guide on the Marsdev site, then show how to build a template project and how to configure the compiler for use in the Codeblocks IDE. And along the way, I run into an issue which I have to resolve, namely with the makefile setup, so make sure you watch to the end to see how I resolve that, as it will be vital for your codeblocks projects going forward.
I would also like to thank all involved with Marsdev and SGDK.

I provide a step by step process also in a text file i created, which you can find in the link below. Not sure if it will be useful or not as it is all explained in the video.
Let me know below if you would like me to go through a Windows install and setup, as I didn’t get many views from my previous Windows setup guides, I will skip it this time around. Unless somebody requests this.
There are loads of useful guides linked from the SGDK site, so be sure to check them out. I am unsure just how compatible Marsdev is with the current SGDK, let me know if you run into any examples there that won’t run.
