ABSOLUTE BEGINNER’S LEVEL
Insert the bootable Linux Mint 21.2 (already created) in the USB port and restart the computer. While computer is rebooting continually press F2 (for our laptop model) to enter the BIOS. In your case you may need to press F8 or F7 or Del, etc. Watch the screen while the computer is rebooting to find out what key you need to press in order to enter the BIOS.
What is BIOS?
BIOS (Basic Input Output System) is software installed onto a chip on the motherboard. To boot from the bootable linux USB in order to install Linux, you enter the BIOS in order to direct the computer to start the Operating system installation by choosing the Linux USB.
In this video we are deleting Windows 10, so we will only have Linux Mint 21.2 operating system on our computer.
We installed the Linux Mint 21.2 without access to the internet. That is why we could not complete the installation of ‘Simple Screen Recorder’ app. This will be shown on the next video.
The Software Manger icon is what you use in order to install more apps in Linux mint. You can find the Software Manager from the START menu.
The system settings icon can be found from the START menu also. We will go through the System Settings in other videos coming up.
