Cities as Agents of Change: Tools and Strategies for a Thriving Chesapeake Bay
The lecture will be an overview of the Chesapeake Bay, challenges urban
areas pose to the health of the Bay, and tools and resources to help urban
planners to mitigate those challenges.
BIO
Emma Gregory is the Capacity Building Projects Manager at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, a position which allows her to combine her two most deeply-held passions: creating a more equitable and inclusive conservation movement and collaborating with local communities to solve the environmental issues that matter the most to them. When she’s not working, you can find Emma climbing, mountain biking, hiking, camping, or chilling on the couch with a good book and her cat, Ginny.
Breck Sullivan is employed by the U.S. Geological Survey and works at the Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) as the Scientific, Technical Assessment and Reporting (STAR) Coordinator and Ecosystem Analyst. She oversees strategic direction for meeting the science needs within STAR and the CBP
Goal Implementation Teams. She also supports analysis activities to advance understand of factors affecting trends in estuarine water quality and living resources. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Salisbury University. She received her master’s degree from State
University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF) in Environmental Monitoring and Modeling.
