Running Containers from a Different Machine Linked to a TrueNAS Share

This video demonstrates how to run containers from a different machine, then mount the /media share from TrueNAS to the new machine for your *arr stack.

For demo purposes, I used an privileged LXC on Proxmox running Ubuntu 24.04.1 hosting Webmin and Portainer. This can also be run with dockge instead if you prefer.

The command to download the script is wget

To allow it to be executed run chmod +x ubuntu-post-install.sh

To edit your crontab file use the command crontab -e

To edit your mounts use the command nano /etc/fstab

  1. Hey man great job. I use lxc containers only pain is the shares and then making sure they remount after reboot. I like how they all run off basically nothing and pool resources takes less than a min to get a new one running. Really impressed with how much the channel has improved brother. Keep it up
