Abstract:
It is interesting to investigate how nuclear structure changes when a Lambda particle is added to an ordinary nucleus. A well known effect is a contraction of nuclear density via the Lambda particle. However, the Lambda particle plays much more varieties of roles when it is added to clustered nuclei. We demonstrate that an addition of a Lambda particle to 12C, giving (_Λ^13)C, causes rich cluster structures. Investigating the analogy to the cluster structures in 12C allows us to better understand the three-alpha cluster structures in 12C, which are still under question. Special emphasis is put on the fact that the Lambda particle does not only give a simple shrinkage effect to ordinary nuclei but also causes various new types of clusters, sometimes even without the shrinkage.
