A quick overview of how to use VMware Workstation v12 and Windows XP SP3 32 Bit virtual machine, to run the Rockwell software and SoftLogix 5800 Soft PLC.
Install Rockwell PLC and HMI programming software and activate the software forever. These are RSLogix 500 v7 and 5000 v17 + v19. They are older (retired) software, but look and program just like the latest software. Install SoftLogix 5800 (a real ControlLogix PLC in software) that runs on a computer. You can control real Inputs/Outputs with Allen Bradley Ethernet adapters and I/O cards!
Requires XP Pro SP3 32 bit. You can download the pre-activated DELL Restore CD if you have a dell computer. You can also download and install VMware Workstation v12 and create a virtual machine of XP SP3 32 Bit and run XP on Windows 7 sp1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64 Bit computers).
