DPUs (smartNICs) are network cards with built-in intelligence that can perform a variety of network functions directly on the adapter through their own processors. In this session, I will show how to use this technology on the VMware ESXi hypervisor to improve latency, security and visibility together with the VMware software-defined networking solution, VMware NSX. I will also show how it can be used to reduce the load on the host’s x86 processor.
