Unfortunately the Intel X520 82599ES 10G NIC works in a downgraded PCI-E mode and doesn't provide the 10G speed: "LnkSta: Speed 5GT/s, Width x1 (downgraded)" in Debian 12 "lspci " output. Iperf3 shows only 3.5Gbit/s max speed.

I couldn't get 10G out of the SFP ports. Linux shows that they are PCIe 2.0 and downgraded to 5G speeds.

The device is good but i not trust this Chinese manufactures when it comes to UEFI firmware so will be nice if you can find similar device that can use coreboot.
just a reminder, for something like this out of china especially, best format the device, then reinstall pfsense which you download online from the original site and flash to usb stick yourself. just to be safe.
