Yet another reason to get rid of Windows all together if you can. 😉
I run W10 with Xubuntu in a Duel Drive config. Did windows just edit a bootloader on a drive that it wasn't actually installed on?
I was running a dual boot with Zorin OS and Windows 10 and I got this "something has gone seriously wrong" error message a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know it was related to the August windows updates, so I deleted the grub bootloader and restored a Windows-only bootloader. I still have Secure Boot activated but not Bitlocker. I guess I should try the workaround you mentioned and re-install Zorin dual boot. If you can post another video describing the workaround in more detail, that would be great!
This has something to do with motherboards, not all but some brands or models are facing this issue
