North West | Over 500 illegal miners arrested



Scores of illegal mineworkers are continuing to resurface from mine shafts around Orkney in the North West. National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says more than 500 mineworkers have been arrested to date and the numbers are expected to increase. Members of the police and the army have closed off the delivery of food and water to those underground.

  2. This what the ANC brought to SA by supporting undemocratic countries like Zimbabwe and Mozambique. All this is caused by the SA government ignoring and supporting human right violations mainly in Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Deporting the illegals will be a complete worst of resources without first of all securing the boarders. The government will spend millions deporting these guys but they will be back again tomorrow, so what is the point.
