The world has reacted to the new Ferrari F80 and here’s my take! Join me at Finali Mondiali for the public debut of the new hypercar, and our first opportunity to hear the V6 engine. After the challenge to find a ride in an XX car on track at Imola, let’s discuss F80’s design and engine…!
Ferrari’s famous Big 5 of the 288 GTO, F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari has now grown to a sixth member, celebrating the upcoming 80th anniversary of the company and appropriately named to match. Each previous member of this prestigious family has incorporated technology that defined its era, often the latest from motorsport, and the new model continues this legacy.
However, along the way, the change after 3 generations of V12 to a new V6 engine has created more split opinions than ever before. To many, the flagship model must contain a 12-cylinder powerplant, to others it’s a symbol of motorsport success following the 499P’s double Le Mans 24H wins and the F1 car’s V6 as well.
It’s not only that, as the new design language feature a solid gloss black panel across the front has again created the most voiced of opinions. First seen on 12Cilindri with a styling nod to the 365 GTB/4 of the late 1960s, on F80 it is even more pronounced as Ferrari set a style for the next generation of cars – and it’s certainly not to everyone’s tastes.

I think it’s incredible, I just wished they did something a bit more with the exhaust because on video it’s definitely way too quiet. I’m sure it’s totally different in person but I’ll never know firsthand.

It's crazy to think that if they sell all 799 of the F80, which they will, at a starting price of 3.6 million euros, that means that just on that car, Ferrari will rake in almost 2,9 billion euros! That's absolutely insane!

my opinion on the F80 powertrain is
yes I would excuse Ferrari for putting the 1200hp twin turbo V6 hybrid with 5 electric motors
just because they still use it in the F1 and 499P 24hrs lemans hypercar champion
especially that the 499P had prove it to win twice in Lemans with that engine
Mclaren senna was ugly and stayed ugly. same for this F80. LA Ferrari was is and will stay beautiful.
Looks dreadful and sounds rather pathetic. I wonder how many of the 799 chosen ones feel the same way but will keep their mouths shut and still take their allocation? I suspect all of them will. Even if they hate the car it will be a lucrative investment.
