Nested Virtualization (X86) Part II – George Dunlap, Xen Server
In part II of this topic, we’ll briefly review our sketched-out implementation of nested virt. We’ll then cover some pitfalls, including inconsistent naming schemes, new cpu feature “leakage”, and naive nested VMEXIT handling; and finally we’ll finish up with future work, including XTF unit tests and the potential for stealing ideas from the shadow code to improve the p2m shadowing algorithm.
