This is 4th and last part of MotivationHow project to answer question “What?” – What Mobile Networks are?
In this part we discuss paradigm shifts, serious evolutionary milestones of Mobile Networks.
We will start with unification of low-level protocols (common IP protocol). After that: semi- or even fully automatic mobile network parts configuration (Self-Organized Networks, SON), Automatic Neighbor Relations (ANR).
After that – Control and User Plane nodes separation (with independent node scalability).
Next – was Mobile Network Nodes’ Virtualization.
Next – network slicing.
And finally, unification of high-level protocols involved, bringing less and less protocols in newer mobile network generations.
