  1. His mum raise him for politics, prayed alot for her son when she was on earth. Pray for this man, encounters with God, grace and wisdom to be a good servant to South Africa. God bless this two jewels of our nation.

  2. With youth unemployment at 63% and BEE is the biggest culprit.

You run out and support these policies as you think its to your benefit and you will bring around change but all it is doing , is enriching a few elite cadres.

Black Economic Empowerment BEE should be called Black Elite Enrichment, as only a few connected African National Congress's ANC cadres benefit from government tenders which are overpriced and paid by taxpayers money.

BEE is for the FEW, not for YOU!

    Let me explain.

The eThekwini Municipality for instance, brags every mont in their financial reporting their high spending on BEE tenders issued to BEE Partners. The people on the ground sees this and think that is great and vote for them to keep them in power as they are helping the black guys. What they don’t know is that only certain individuals benefit from this and not really the commmunity. Remember the govenrment does not have their own money. They get their money from us through taxes and rates. We vote them into power to be custodians of our fuds and to spend it wisely to create Roads and infrastructure. Not jobs. Jobs are created by the people trading. You have mielies and I have chickens, so we trade to balance it out as you also want to eat eggs and chicken and cant survive on our surplus mielies. That is wher government comes in. We give them some of our money to build roads, rails, dams, electricity, police for safety etc so that we can trade our goods an make a living. Water, Safety roads and electricity is paramount in a society to flourish as you cannot do without it.

However you get a fraction of the money you give to govenrment, spent on REAL service delivery.

Eg. Recently I was told a white guy bidder on a tender to throw a concrete slab in Summerveld eThekwini quoted R150000 to do the job. But it was given to a BEE guy to do the work for R450 000, who then hired the original non BEE compliant guy as a subcontractor and let him do the work , paying him R150k and pocketing the rest. So you pay more for less service delivery enriching cadres. See why we are in this mess!

    Another example is where

The state departments procure light bulb fluorescent tubes that should cost R25 to R50 tube for R600 because of black economic empowerment and tenderpreneurs , where the money goes to the ANC cronies.

    https://mybroadband.co.za/news/government/186156-r600-per-light-bulb-in-corrupt-anc-contract.html

So you see Wrt the above, you only get a fraction of our money spent on real service delivery where the majority of it goes into some cadres pocket at our expense. This is a double whammy as you pay much more to get much less- Imagine you can build 12 hospitals or schools for the price of one. Or your taxi or fuel can take you 12 times further. Instead of fixing one pothole you can fix 12, instead of building one house you can build 12. It doesn't, because you tax money is enriching political rulers, Anc cadres through BEE policies. And they pull the wool over your eyes and brag about how they promote Black Economic Empowerment so the majority votes for them and keep them in power while extorting you. Wake up!

The ANC must stop using apartheid as a scapegoat for them to implement bad policy like black economic empowerment and broad-based black economic empowerment BEE that is killing the country and costing South Africans billions.

We do not have a crime crisis but a job crisis. Crime as a result of people having no jobs and having to fend for themselves. If I do not have food and my neighbor does, I'm going to take it if I'm starving and that's a reality in South Africa with 37% unemployment

Recently at the G20 summit Ramaphosa talked about luring foreign direct investment and know how important it is for job creation, yet in the same speech they will talk about Rapid Economic Transformation, Black Economic Empowerment and Expropriation Without Compensation, which scares the pants of any foreign investor, so NO NEW Jobs will be created.

51% of all banks ownership in South Africa had to be given away to a black partner in able to do business in South Africa. In anyone's right mind, who will give away 51% of what you have worked for because of the color of your skin to someone else to be able to do business in South Africa, and yet you want to talk about FOREIGHN DIRECT INVESTMENT and job creation but you ENRICH one single individual at the expense of millions.

The government does not create any jobs. That comes from the taxpayer and businesses. To create jobs, take the restrictions of businesses so they can employ people more people and generate tax for the government to provide services needed for business to flourish like roads and infrastructure. Basics , Water and Electricity!

Let business and government employ people on merit, not the color of their skin or their cader connections.

Would you employ the second best guy to run your business or the best guy? This will also increase the Rands power against the Dollar. Imagine if our exchange rate we were 1 rand to the dollar like in pre-1994 that is 18 times better than today instead of buying one loaf you can get 18 loaves instead of one tank of fuel you can get 18 tanks of fuel for your car . Food and everything else comes down as fuel and energy needs dictate food prices, and mostly jobs are created.

You deserve the Government you voted for!

Ps. Ramaphosa got rich with BEE. DA wanted in 2013 to increase Affirmative action quantities targets set by ANC and Helen Zille was in charge that time.

  3. The voters have no idea of what their vote actually means and enables. As long as they keep on voting for parties who are full of individuals who don't have a single moral fibre in their being, the country will remain in the state of decay that it finds itself in. Cyril Ramaphosa speaks a big game but is completely incapable of dealing with corruption especially when he himself has its stink emanating from his couch following him around.

Oom Piet is a wise man, pity we don't have more like him in crucial government positions and not because he is white man but because he is a man who is realistic and pragmatic and most importantly, you can see he wants to solve the problems rather than enrich himself and be plagued with race based ideology.

  4. Makone you're looking absolutely GORGEOUS! Lovely to see you here! And well done on a great interview. Kudos to Minister Groenewald… real steel where we really need it. Bravo! "Consequence management" – something that has been sorely lacking in this country (thank you ANCancer) and about time! True – the Guptas will never face justice because too many SERVING politicians (read ANCancer) will never allow it. Disgusting. Today's ANC is a POISON. MK can be added to that stinking pile too as they are just an offshoot and led by the key Gupta kingpin. Thank God for figures like Minister Groenewald who show them all up!

  5. It’s quite sad that majority of South Africans aren’t ready for a leader like Dr Pieter Groenewald in the president seat.
This man will bring order and stability back to South Africa, but many are waiting til death for the ANC to change their ways.

  6. Looking forward to seeing more of Makone, very articulate and I enjoyed how she questioned Mr Groenewald. This whole interview just felt so refreshing; open, honest, respectful and informative. We need more of this in South Africa.

  7. Highlighted reply, some people are thankful, others are not, some people are corrupt others are honest, some people believe in God the Almighty, Yeshua, the Creator, others don't. The South Africa for the last 30 years!πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

  8. Mokone Maja is part of the IRR, a Democratic Alliance think tank. It almost expected that she will be good when it comes to politics and policy, she does that for a living. I would give her 7/10 on the style, and 6/10 on the overall interview much much better than the useless mainstream media journalist who come to an interview to freestyle, zero research on the subject at hand. One good think about her, is that unlike Mike she seems to be able to control her liberal biases, it remains to be seen how she will handle an ANC, EFF, Action SA, PA or even MK interview. All politicians must be treated the same, in a tough manner, they must not come on such platform to lie to the public because they assumed the media has forgotten about what they said previously.

  9. This is one of the few politicians I can still listen to. I love Oom's sincerity he is a rare species in the current political enviro. Otherwise I'm heartened by South Africans from all backgrounds appreciating nothing but competence that's on display. South Africans are learning that race, political ideology are less important than sincere leadership.

  10. this old men must start with the TRC before trying to solve anything.Because of the same constitution we have people with very dark serious crimes living a marvelous free life in this country!!!.

  11. The sad part is white people voted yes to have ANC disbanded and have evil Mandela released from jail
Majority of white people fell for the joke of de Klerk
Rest of white people sold us out who were against that, and now we are suffering

  12. Great interview! Makone on Daily Friend and at IRR. She is the real deal. Oom Piet as equally competent and hard working. Great interview to update us on what’s happening in parliament
