Mine tour guide identified as victim of accident at Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine
Authorities said they successfully rescued a dozen people stuck 1,000 feet underground at the Mollie Kathleen Gold Mine on Thursday.

We went on this tour the day before. It’s pitch black because you are going down a mine shaft 1000 ft. Once you reach bottom there are lights. Our hearts go out to the tour guide, Patrick, who lost his life.

Went down there 30 years ago .
No cameras inside a public area…quite rare ,surprised their insurance company did not require that.
They could have used some of that tourism money to inspect the ride.
Looks like a health and safety violation coming if the problem is with the doors the elevator should not have moved. More than likely the problem has been occurring for some time. Extremely unfortunate and sad.
